Tohoku University

Takeshi Yamaguchi is an Associate Professor at Graduate School of Engineering and Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering, Tohoku University. His primary research interests involve the tribology of shoe and floor interface and biomechanics of gait with the goal of finding ways to reduce slip and fall accidents. More specifically, his research has been aimed at understanding the relationship between gait and friction demand at shoe and floor interface and developing high friction materials and surface pattern design for footwear outsole and floors. He also works with development shoe sensor device and cart-type friction measurement device for shoe and floor.
